Bio
When I left the U.S. Army I was given a chance to finally go to college, so I decided to pursue that elusive dream of doing something I actually liked for a living and went to art school to learn how to make video games. I had some good classes, I had some horrible classes, but in the end I met a lot of awesome people and had a generally good time of things. I even managed to learn a thing or two! I also got a pretty lucky break and landed an internship at Surreal Software working as a character artist. I was fortunate to be able to learn my craft at the feet of some truly talented people and long time industry veterans. The two years I worked there were some of the best times I have ever had.
When the project I was working on at Surreal ended I got to spend six months really honing my craft and focusing on my skills. I pretty much treated working on my art and my craft while I was unemployed as a full time job. I had hours, a work schedule, everything. I even worked from a Starbucks a few days a week for a change of scenery. I eventually picked back up for some short term contracting work with Surreal/WB Games where I got to flex my environment art muscles and see some old friends. From there I moved on to Sucker Punch Productions to work on inFamous 2. Finishing I2 has been one hell of a ride and I am looking forward to continuing to make awesome games with the phenomenal crew at Sucker Punch.
In other news I am the proud papa of a brand new baby boy, Korben Harrison Steichen, I just started a new sculpture and I am still a pretty lousy guitarist.
